Miner Institute’s annual Crop Congress meeting will be held Wednesday, January 30
Crop Congress at Miner Institute – Jan. 30! Annual meeting features experts from Cornell University, Cornell Cooperative Extension, and University of Guelph Chazy, NY – Jan. 3, 2019 – Miner Institute’s annual Crop Congress meeting will be held Wednesday, January 30 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Joseph C. Burke Education and Research Center, 586 Ridge Road, Chazy. This meeting is free and open to the public. Jerry Cherney from Cornell University will give a talk on optimizing alfalfa grass mixtures; Mike Hunter from Cornell Cooperative Extension, will give a talk on the western bean cutworm; Clarence Swanton from the University of Guelph will give a talk titled How Plants Talk and Why we Should Listen; Elson Shields from Cornell University will discuss insect pest management in field crops; Dan Wixted from Cornell University will discuss the health effects of glyphosate; and Kitty O’Neil from Cornell Cooperative Extension will give a talk on the timing of planting a cover crop. Crop Congress is organized in collaboration with Cornell Cooperative Extension. DEC and CCA Pesticide applicator credits will be available. Pre-registration is encouraged. Attendees can network with vendors before the meeting from 9 to 10 a.m. Door prizes are available.
